Birth Story pictures

I got the best email ever this week!  Kim Orlandini sent me the birth story pictures she took.  Now I’ve seen Kim’s work before, and I knew I’d get some great pictures so I was super excited to get the pictures…  But I was NOT prepared for how AMAZING these pictures would really be.

Be warned, TONS of pictures ahead (be thankful I was able to narrow it own so much…)

First she surprised me by the sheer number of pictures there was!  I got more than 250 pictures!  And every one is amazing!  So many pictures I never would have thought of taking, but now that I have them I’m so glad I do! She captured not just the BIG moments, but all the simple moments as well.

The ones I first gravitated for and fell in love with were the pictures of The Reader checking out my belly, the machinery, everything I was hooked up to, etc…  She’s so inquisitive, and has always loved anatomy, and all things medical.  My future Doctor!

I loved all the subtle moments she captured, G’ma E excited, G’ma P texting updates…  Me barfing…  Okay not barfing, but cleaning up afterwards, brushing my teeth, my bathroom bag, etc…

The little touches were amazing!  The pictures of the baby and I are lovely, but the rest are absolutely incredible as well.  The angles of the pictures she got were incredible too!  Like this one of the Dr and me in the mirror?  Who get’s shots like that?

Then the most amazing of all, her pictures of the actual birth were incredible!  I’m not sharing them here simply because that might make some people uncomfortable (like my husband), but I love them!  I don’t think I could love them more! She totally captured what I loved best about this labor.

Then after the birth?  More amazing-ness, the reactions of everyone as they got to see baby boy!  Some of his great first moments.  Getting to hold him the first time, showing him off, etc…  I love the picture of my mom taking a picture to send to my dad!

I love all the pictures with his big sister, there are so many it was hard to pick just one to share.  I love this one with his G’ma’s too!  I had the most amazing Dr.  I’ve been watching the birth video and I still can’t get over what an amazing birth it was!

Seriously, could he be any cuter?  And check out these HUGE hands and feet!

And finally the best shot I’ve ever had of The Husband, me and the newborn ever!  LOVE it!  Usually one or both of us adults look all messed up (in one of our past pictures even the baby looked all wonky).  But I love these!

So thank you again Kim, your so incredibly talented and I love my birth story pictures!

Thanks Michelle~ I’m SO glad I did it too! I arranged with Kim to do it months ago, like when I FIRST found out I was pregnant! So I was super excited when I saw how cute yours turned out too! Wish this was a “thing” back when I had my other kids too! Such a great memory to have.

    Ok… First, these are BEAUTIFUL!
Second, you don’t even look phased by the fact that you just pushed a human being out of you! Haha! I just found your blog through Whipperberry…I’m pregnant with my first child and am terrified of the actual birth process and you just made that look so easy through these pictures! Amazing!
    Congrats too!

Thanks so much! I have loved each and every labor. It’s my favorite part of the whole pregnancy actually. I do get an epidural, and I’d probably feel different if my pushing lasted longer, but I’ve had amazing labors. Huge hips come in handy when your pushing out a baby! I’ve only pushed through 2 contractions (or less) for every baby.
