Last Saturday I was able to get out of the house (yippee!!!) with Baby Boy and visit some amazing locations down at The Shops at the Riverwoods with some other bloggers (and good friends).  The first stop was the most CHARMING vintage toy and candy store, Blickenstaff’s! I’m in LOVE!!!  I was in heaven from the second I walked in!

They had walls of candy on the back wall, candy in bulk (I love jelly bellies, but they also had my favorite candy coated chocolates, sixlets!!!  I got over half a lbs to take home with me!)

They also had a section of modern AND vintage candy.  I LOVED being able to find some of my favorites from when I grew up, as well as when my parents were younger!  They would make GREAT stockings stuffers!  Even better?  Foreign chocolates- died and gone to heaven. Cadbury from Europe is the best thing EVER!  As for toys?  My favorite was all the great games, we’re a family of game players!

The decor was AMAZING!  I LOVED the 2 trains running along the ceiling, if only my ceiling was higher, I would totally do this in my kids room if I could.  So fun and magical!  There were tons of amazing vintage decorations all over as well.  Just window shopping is a blast, let alone the fact that you want to buy everything you see!

I love how interactive the store is!  See that lovely photo booth?  And unlike other stores where they have do not touch signs EVERYWHERE here they had tons of toys you can climb on, play with, touch and get on.

You can’t tell but this rocking horse is GINORMOUS!!!!  It’s as tall as me!  If I hadn’t had Baby Boy attached to me I would have loved to ride on this guy!  If your looking for a fun place to take your kids over the vacations this vintage toy and candy store is the place for you!

The best news?  They have a ton of fun activities planned for the holidays! I can’t WAIT to see their MASSIVE 12 days of Christmas giveaways! Check out their Blick’s blog every day for those 12 days for hilarious videos and the many giveaways of that day. If I was local I would go every day of the twelve days of Christmas, they need to expand and build a shop in Salt Lake!

Don’t forget to like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter for news and giveaways!

Thank you to Bryce Olsen for taking all the pictures for the day so we didn’t have to!  And thank you to Elisa, Veronica & Kyle for putting together such a wonderful day!

Today is when The Shops at Riverwoods begins the holiday celebrations with Lighting the Riverwoods, Santa Claus, carriage rides and other entertainment as well as a gingerbread contest!
