My children’s school, The Spectrum Acadamy, had a charity event last weekend. The school is a charter school, so it does get some money from the state. But since they keep our classes to 13/15 students (elementary/high school) with two teachers each, and a full time staff of specialist: occupational therapist, speech, etc… The money doesn’t go very far. So we do lots of fund raising. This event was one of those.
They asked if I could donate my time to create an easy finger food dessert. Right away I thought of doing cake balls! My mom was in town and helped me roll all the balls, 450 of them! The next day I got out the chocolate melts I had gotten, and realized they were flavored! What a mess. So I had to try to match up the flavored candy to the flavored cakes as best I could. I thought they turned out pretty good, and EVERYONE said they loved them. That’s all that matters, right?
So the flavor were; Peanut butter cake with strawberry chocolate, yellow cake with lemon chocolate, chocolate cake with mint chocolate and white almond cake with orange chocolate. Unfortunately they didn’t get the turn out they were hoping for, but they took the extra cake balls to a car wash/bake sale they had at the school the next day to sell. I couldn’t make it but I hope it went well!

Thanks guys! They did turn out better than I expected! People did seem to really enjoy them! They were a lot of work, but worth it for the charity!
