This might not seem like your typical treat, but it is one of my all time favorite foods. A real treat for me, one I haven’t been able to enjoy in YEARS!
My mom left me a message a few weeks ago saying to call her back, it was urgent!!! Of course I was a little worried and called RIGHT back!!! The urgent news? She wanted to tell me that the essential ingredient for this cheese ball recipe was BACK on the market!!! BEST NEWS EVER!!! When Kraft took Roka Blue off the market a few years ago we all (my mom, sisters and daughters) all died a little inside. We would all call each other as we used the last jars from our stashes. It’s a BIG deal. Every time I’ve gone shoping for the last few years I’ve looked for a hidden jar behind the others. So this news was GLADLY meet. The next day I ran out and bought 20 jars. Yup, 20! In the few weeks since I got my jars I’ve made 4 batches!

The best Cheese Ball recipe EVER in the history of the whole wide world!
1 Jar Kraft Roka Blue
8 oz Cream Cheese
4 Tbsp butter
1 small can crushed Olives drained well
chopped pecans (or walnuts if you prefer- ugh)
Mix the roka blue, cream cheese and butter at room temperature. Add the olives and mix again. Refrigerated until firm, then form 2 balls and roll into the chopped pecans! Serve with your favorite crackers! I like Wheat Thins or Triskets!
The worst news of the day? I have a brand new fresh cheese ball in my refrigerator RIGHT NOW… BUT, I don’t have any crackers! I went through 8 boxes in the last few weeks! Grrrr… I am going grocery shopping first thing in the morning!

I’ve seen the jar of Roka blue at the store lately. I love blue cheese but haven’t been quite sure what to do with the jarred kind. Now I know! And I really want to try it. It sounds and looks really yummy.

Sure! I actually HATE olives, all lives, but I love them in this. But I ran out once, and made it with only half the olives, it worked, but I didn’t like it as much! Let me know if you try something else!

I have say, I make a cheese ball this time every of year..all the family hollers..where is that cheese ball & crackers..it’s truly our tradition…mine is somewhat different..me not am fan of olives, or blue cheese for that matter..mine consists of cream cheese, crushed pecans inside & out, onions, celery, crushed pineapple..it’s suppose to have water chess nuts too, but I don’t like them either. Hope everyone continues to get well & your new year starts out on a great foot

I’m not a fan of olives or blue cheese either, when I grew up and got this recipe and learned what was in it I was shocked! But I think a lot of cheeseballs are terrific! Hello.. it’s cheese! I love cheese! We’re all starting to get well again thanks so much for commenting!
