Gender reveal party

I can’t believe it! I’m 20 weeks today! That’s halfway along with this pregnancy. Or even more, considering I have only made it to 40 weeks once! And this Wednesday morning is my Ultrasound! I though I would have a Gender reveal party! Everyone get’s to vote for what they think I’m having and I’ll reveal what it is on Wednesday! And what a guessing game without prizes??? I have some of the most amazing friends out there in this blogging world and some of them have amazing shops and businesses and have GENEROUSLY agreed to donates prizes. So once I reveal the Gender on Wednesday I’ll pick winners from the group that was correct!

boy or girl

As a quick background I will remind you that I think this baby is a boy. I have 2 of each and my boy and girl pregnancies have been very different. With my boys I crave veggies (normally I don’t TOUCH veggies) and with my girls chocolate. This time around even the smell of Chocolate sent me running to the bathroom (it’s MUCH better now that the morning sickness is gone). Also? I started craving salads (ewww) and squash (nasty) before I even had a positive pregnancy test!! Then there is the style of my morning sickness. I have had a distinct boy or girl morning sickness with each one. This time my morning sickness started out clearly with my boy style, moved a bit into girl territory for a week then back into boy version. So my husband and I are pretty darn sure it’s a boy. Which is one of the reasons I didn’t bother rushing to get my ultrasound. BUT I’m also older and we all know how much our bodies like to trick us JUST when we think we have this whole life thing down. So while a girl would totally shock me (and send me running to the baby naming books) I admit it is entirely possible! All I REALLY care about is a healthy baby that agrees to stay inside me as long as possible. So far no bedrest this time around and I’d like to keep it that way!

The prizes!

My friend Heidi is amazing, she makes and sells the most ADORABLE puff baby quilts! And now she sells the pattern so you can make your own! She also just announced her own pregnancy, and she’s just a few weeks behind me (her third- is she not WAY to cute to be having her third?). It’s so fun having pregnancy buddies.

I have Three patterns of her AMAZING quilts to giveaway to three lucky winners! Aren’t we lucky? I haven’t had an nursery since my oldest was a baby (weird I know) and of now I have NO idea where this baby will be sleeping. BUT if I DO get a chance to put my crib up you KNOW I’m going to HAVE to make one of these!

Lindsay from Curtsay Designs is actually my 2nd cousin’s wife! How crazy is this blog land? She linked up one week and since I’m related to any Haynie in the USA I just had to figure it out! It might actually be 2nd cousin once removed, but honestly who can keep track of that stuff, a cousin is a cousin, right??

Anyway she crochets (girl after my own heart) some AMAZING items! And her adorable little boy is her model (even for the girl items sometimes- cutie). AND she is ALSO pregnant (ahead of me though)! Something in the water maybe? Anyway she is giving away one of her totally amazing Peanuts the elephant hat pattern, as well as a Crochet chain necklace (pink, teal, purple or yellow in child or adult size)

Elizabeth is one of the most adorable gals. She is also lucky enough to live in the sunny CA (have I mentioned how much I dislike snow lately?) I don’t know how she does it all! She blogs, come up with adorable shop items, keep up with her kids AND keeps her shop RUNNING. She amazes me! She’s giving away a $20 credit to her shop!

She has some adorable stuff in her shop, cute CUTE yo yo headbands, reversible coffee cozies , ruffled zipper clutches and more! And I love the disclaimer on her headbands, that while they look painful they are not! I have always had issues with headbands so it always makes me nervous to buy one. Knowing that she can wear hers with glasses and still not be in pain is great news cause they are totally adorable!

So there are going to be six winners! Remember I’ll pick them randomly from the group that guesses correctly! To link up under the gender your guessing I’m having! You do NOT have to have a blog or website to vote, but if you do feel free to link it up!

My 4 year old girl wanted a sister so bad, and she got a brother instead, so just for her I’m going to guess that it’s a GIRL!!

Thanks Kara! So far my kids seem to be happy either way. None of them have expressed a preference one way or another. They all just seem glad I’m “finally” (their words) having another one.

First of all, Congrats on the new baby! Second of all, I voted boy. Boys seem to be going around lately! Both me and my sis. in law are having boys, so I’m thinking of course you’ll have a boy too!

Thanks! I’m actually surprised at how excited I am! being SO sure it’s a boy I kind of haven’t really thought about it too much. But now I’m getting really excited, and even a bit nervous. What if it’s a girl? I’m so not in that mindset at ALL. I LOVE ultrasounds, getting to see the baby is always such a miracle. I can’t wait!
