Yup! I can’t keep the secret any longer! We got to see the baby, and see/hear the heartbeat so now I get to share! I’ve never kept my pregnancies a secret even THIS long (although if your on Twitter you already know, I couldn’t keep it a secret EVERYWHERE!) I’m 2 months (or 9 weeks) along and so so SO sick.
I’ve been sick with every pregnancy so it’s not at all a surprise. But how is it possible that we forget just HOW bad it can be? Actually this is by far my best morning (all day) sickness (thank you Zofran), although that’s not saying much. I’m sick from 6 weeks to 16 weeks (almost on the dot), so 7 weeks of sick left… In fact my goal every day is to get the kids to school (on time) and pick them up (on time) and maybe… MAYBE cook dinner (very rare, mornings are actually going MUCH better than evenings). We’ve been going through a LOT of cereal (and not just for breakfast).
Okay, I’m going on the record right now saying I think it’s a boy. Why? Well for one I started craving VEGETABLES almost the day after conception. Seriously. ME… VEGGIES… That is HUGE people. I ate salads, squash, more salads. This is huge, for those of you who REALLY know me you know I usually abhor veggies. I have a short list I can stomach, but salad? So not me. And to top it off? I can’t eat chocolate. It makes me nauseous. Yup, chocolate. With my other boys I also liked salads, although I don’t remember this aversion to chocolate??? Then the morning (all day) sickness started. I have 2 girls and 2 boys. My girl morning (all day) sickness is totally different than my boy morning (all day) sickness. So far my morning sickness (all day) confirms my boy theory. So we’ll see!
Lucky for me I have a LOT of crafts done I haven’t posted tutorials on (from SYTYC). Enough to get me through the next few weeks, if I can get my pregnancy brain working well enough to post them. I can’t seem to get any thing done. I’m all caught up on netflix & hulu and I’m reading my favorite books for the umpteenth time. So I need suggestions? I like TV series, movies (just NOT scary ones) and books, every genre. I don’t remember my pregnancy brain being so useless the last four times. Is that part of the whole forgetting how bad it is thing? Or my… gulp… age? It HAS been 4 1/2 years since my last go around (can you believe my baby will be almost exactly 4 1/2 years old when this one is born, CRAZY).
Speaking of things being different this time around? Check out how HUGE I am!!! If the baby is the size of a GRAPE, how how HOW am I this Ginormous???

Congrats! Glad you’re not feeling as sick thanks to the meds. They are wonderful aren’t they!

Thanks! 9 weeks down 7 to go! 2 more weeks to the half way mark. I really rely on counting down… Knowing there is an end to the whole things makes it more doable!

Yay!! Not for the sickies part but for the you’re having a baby part!!

Oh Congratulations! I hope you’re morning sickness doesn’t last another 7 weeks…how miserable! But I’m dying to know if you got the gender right. Go Momma!

Oh it will. I just hope it doesn’t go OVER the normal time period! I guess the nice thing about being on my 5th is that I kind of know what I’m getting into… Knock on wood (every time you think you know what your doing it changes, right?)

Congrats! Hope the sickness leaves you soon.

Thanks! 7 weeks left. It could be worse. I’m just grateful I’m not one of those women you is sick the entire time. How miserable that would be!

Congratulations! You’re very lucky to know when you’re probably going to stop feeling sick. I’m 19 weeks along, and still get nauseous pretty regularly. I keep trying to stop the daily Zofran intake, but I still haven’t been able to.

oh I am so sorry! I remember the first time around thinking it might never end! And then one day I woke up and it was a little better, the next day I went about half way through the day before I realized I felt great! Good luck!!! I hope it ends for you soon. It can be almost more difficult emotionally than physically at times!

Really!!! It’s a bit small, I can only wear it the first month or so before I get REALLY big! I was thinking about dying it, I’m not really good with white, it get’s dirty too fast! And after so many pregnancies it has some small stains!

congrats – what exciting news!

1st – “ginormous”???? yeah, don’t make me come over there and throw things at you… I’d surely lose points in Heaven for that kind of behavior
and 2nd – congrats again… I think I said it on Twitter… but I may have let it slide thinking that I should have already known and it was embarrassingly late to be offering up my congrats
(and I TOTALLY craved salad with my 3rd boy – breakfast, lunch and dinner… and I normally don’t like chocolate but that pregnancy I had to leave the house if someone was eating it… which made it hard since we lived with my in-laws at the time and didn’t want to tell anyone quite yet!!!)

HA! I meant Ginormous for 9 weeks. I know I’m still super tiny still. but the baby is the size of a grape and my tummy is larger tan it needs to be. Kind of like my body went “oh we know how do to this…” and it all just popped out! But if you want to come by and throw something at me I’ll take it! It would be fun to see you again!
Thanks for the congrats!! you can never get to many good wishes!
Did you crave salads with the first 2 boys? And the chocolate is getting worse! I made a cake this weekend and had to leave and barf as I frosted it! GAH! Luckily the cake was just for a cousin, so I didn’t feel too guilty! Oh, and we’re living in my in laws basement! I felt like I kind of HAD to tell them before we started trying just to give them the heads up. I hated having them “involved” but since we’re not going anywhere anytime soon I felt like I was tricking them… silly I know! They didn’t care at all! (other than being happy for us)

I’ve gotten large with all of them quickly. I don’t mind being a large pregnant woman! Better that people KNOW I’m pregnant than think I’m just swollen or chubby! But when my own sisters looks like they are giving birth to a tennis ball (they don’t even show until they are like 7 or 8 months!) it is a bit… annoying?
[Reply]
Ooh, this is so exciting! Congratulations! Sorry about the sickness, of course – partly because I feel bad for you and partly because I’m planning to have my 1st (and only!) baby within the next year and am a bit worried about all the cons, like the morning (all day?!) sickness.

Thank so much! Not everyone has morning sickness so maybe you’ll get lucky. For me I’ve noticed I don’t handle hormones well. I can’t take birth control because it makes me sick, and my periods are terrible. So the hormones of early pregnancy make me really sick! So if you handle hormones well you might escape it. My sisters didn’t get sick at all! Good luck!

YAY!!! Congrats Mama I’m so so so happy for you!!! I hated the sickies too! I have only been preggo once and just have my sweet Alie (she was an achievement in her own, remember?) BUT I remember my brain was such mush. It still has not fully recovered! AND I posted a comment on facebook about how happy I was that Natalie Portman won the oscar (she was UNREAL in Black Swan) but I commented that I couldn’t believe she remembered all those people to thank and SHE HAD NO NOTE. How did she remember that much while pregnant. It’s just baffling! I couldn’t even remember to put shoes on my feet before I went outside!

Thanks! I hate being sick too! But it is SO worth it in the end. It’s weird, how sometimes my mind works just fine and sometimes it’s wrecked! Never know which one I’m going to wake up to!

Yeah!!!! I’m so happy for you! Hang in there. Just when you think you will be sick the rest of your life, you start to feel better. Love ya!!!

Congratulations!! Pregnancy brain is hard! I am 30 weeks along, and can’t find the energy for anything. I am hoping that you won’t fare this same fate!!

We’ll after 4 other pregnancy I’m pretty sure I will! all pregnant women do! Then comes nursing brain… It comes back a bit when you start getting more sleep, but I’m pretty sure than every pregnancy has taken just a bit from brain power and it all adds up. No wonder teenagers think they are smarting than all adults!

wouldn’t that be nice! Actually it would cause me stress and worry that something was wrong with the baby. Isn’t that silly? I don’t want to be sick, and yet I’m grateful for it.

Congratulations Ashlee! I don’t think you know who I am – we were introduced a while ago (actually now that I think about it, it was about 10 years, so I’m sure you don’t), but I am also Brandon’s cousin, so I know the rest of your family pretty well. Anyway, just wanted to say congratulations – you look great. That’s a bummer about being sick, but at least you can count on it stopping soon!
I was wondering if you’ve tried the Eureka series – it kind of sounded like you were hoping for some suggestions on Netflix – you may have already seen it, but we LOVED it. It’s probably the only SyFy channel show that I will admit to loving. Good luck!
And I love, love, LOVE your blog and enjoyed trying to figure out which crafts were yours on SYTYC!

hi Missy! I’ve of course heard your name a lot, and I remember meeting you, but it has been quite a long time! Thanks for the congrats! The sick isn’t fun, but in the end if I wasn’t sick I’d be worried that something was wrong with the baby, so I’m happy to know my body and the baby are doing their jobs!
I have the Eureka series saved on Netflix, but haven’t seen it yet! Thanks for the suggestion! And thanks for the blog love! It’s always fun when I KNOW my readers!
