So over the next few weeks I’ll be finishing up projects and showing off the remodeling. I figured it would be good to start with an overview. Here is the before:
You can see the two bedrooms of the left we’ve been living in, the smaller one has been my husband and I. The larger room is where all 4 kids shared. The 2 rooms on the far right is where my sister in law has been living. The big room in the middle has been my office and our living room, and then the closed in room middle bottom was an unfinished storage room, as well as the water heater, furnace, venting, etc…
And here was the plan for the after. We ended up not putting in the bathtub so the top left room and bathroom didn’t change but everything else is the new basement!
First we pulled out the wall and opened up the storage room into the main room. We got a tank-less hot water heater and moved all the furnace/electrical stuff over to a small closet against the wall in the old storage room. Next to that electrical room is the new laundry closet. The rest of the old storage room turned into a Kitchen! My sister in law moved upstairs to her old room (new closet) will be for my husband and I (once we move out all the storage that’s been in there and paint it!) and the other room is now my office. So the main room can be a dining/living room. The bathroom and small bedroom didn’t change and the girls will move into that room (once we move out and paint it). The large bedroom we cut part off to become a storage room/pantry and that leaves us with a normal sized room (plus closet) for the boys!
