I’m SO excited about this week’s guest poster…  It’s my baby sister!  She’s totally adorable (and she looks WAY better 9 months pregnant than I do- okay, pretty much all the time).   She, like my mom and other sister, are amazing crafters!  She’s done adorable birthday parties, cakes, and she has a few fun things in the works, like  her daughters new bed.  A Pottery Barn knock off, I can’t wait to see it!  So give her some love, she’s very new to this blogging world!

Hello, I’m Chelsea. I’m 25, married for 6 years with two little girls
I am stoked about guest posting today because I think Ashlee is an amazing, talented person! But, I am a little biased because she is my big sister! So everyone go order a cake from her because she is the best. She designed my blog, my button and is my go to gal for birthday invites!
I’m not a known, popular, or even big time blogger. It’s more of a side hobby to keep me taking pictures of the things I do. My blog, Reese’s Pieces and Me, is similar to everything my sister does, I get myself into a little of everything. I do some cake decorating and pick up jobs with that here and there, I LOVE baking, painting, home decor crafts, holiday food and crafts, sewing, and every 5 months or so I go tutu crazy and make a zillion and sell them off or give them away! And I’m just barely dabbling in photography so excuse my wanna be pictures!
I’m going to treat you to my favorite weekend game night dessert we always make with friends. Chocolate molten lava cakes. I have tried a few, experimented, but found that THIS is the best.

Chocolate Molten Lava Cake
6 oz Semi Sweet Bakers Chocolate
6 oz Butter (chopped) *and additional butter for ramekins
3 eggs
1/2 C sugar
1/3 C Flour

I’m sure there are tons of fancy chocolate types out there but I find that Bakers tastes perfectly delicious.Four 7 oz ramekins (I used mugs before I bought these, still taste good but I could never get them to come out perfectly. You could also use smaller ones and just make more. A double boiler (but I don’t have one!) so my make shift way is to boil water in a pot with a glass bowl on top and melt the chocolate inside! While the chocolate is melting (and you are making sure to stir frequently)…. Mix the eggs and sugar till it turns slightly whitish.Butter the ramekins. Have NO FEAR here, the only way this goes wrong is if you don’t have enough butter.

Once the chocolate is completely melted take it off the heat and add the butter and stir till melted together.

Then add the egg mixture and stir together with a spoon until combined. Next add the flour and stir. Pour evenly into buttered ramekins. They can be made ahead of time.

Place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 17-20 min. Baking time varies on location and oven so you have to go by look to make sure they come out in a perfect mound without spewing. I do mine for 19 min on the dot. They are firm an inch all the way around. Then the center gives a slight jiggle. Its trial and error folks. You can also add time if you like less lava, I personally love it about 50/50 cake to lava! Flip over onto a plate, or bowl. Carefully pick up and the cake should come out with ease. If you buttered enough you will never have to knife around the edges. The best way to eat this??? With homemade vanilla ice cream! If you want to get fancy, create this Chocolate lace dome. Tutorial found on my blog.
