Friday was my birthday party (yes I threw myself a party!  What?  no one else is going to and I TOTALLY deserve one!).  I decided on a backyard Ice Cream party.  Anyway, Wednesday I’ll be sharing my cake tutorial but Thursday I’ll show off the whole party!  Today I wanted to share my Ice cream cone Oreo “cake” balls! I found images of similar cake ball cones all over pinterest. Easily on about 4 other sites so I’m not sure WHO to give the credit too, but they were inspired!

My sister was the official Photographer for the event!  Just wait until you see the rest!  It turned out so cute!

So I forgot to take pictures of the first steps, cutting and attaching the cones!  I used a knife to cut off the bottom 2 inches of sugar cones, then dipped the cut edge in melted colored candy and attached them to the oreo balls!

Once they cooled completely I dipped the balls into the candy coating, swirling the oreo balls…

and it will look like this!  Then I had to decide if I wanted to “dry” them upright or upside down.  Sticking with my mint chocolate chip theme I dipped them in chocolate sprinkles while the candy coating was still wet.

I think they turned out great!  I then placed them back onto the parchment paper and let them dry upside down!  I love how they turned out and can’t wait to show you the rest of the party!

Thanks! They turned out GREAT! There were a few leftovers after the party and I should’ve hidden them because the kids finished them off FAST and now I wish I still had more!

Thanks! It was super easy and totally worth it. I like that it could be messy looking, the super smooth cake pops are harder for me!
